J onathan Woodcock, M.D. is founder and president of Neurological Rehabilitation Resources, P.C. (NRR), a Denver-based medical practice, providing expert healthcare for people with neurological illnesses such as concussion, traumatic brain
injury, headaches, chronic pain conditions, stroke, dementia, epilepsy,
developmental problems and late spinal cord injury. Board certified in internal
medicine, neurology, and psychiatry, Dr. Woodcock regularly consults with
patients and their families, as well as patients’ medical and legal
professionals following catastrophic injuries. Dr. Woodcock applies his medical
expertise and credibility to the role of medical expert and witness, regularly
testifying in depositions and as well as the courtroom.
Founded in 1995, NRR has developed exceptional treatment protocols for outpatient managed care in neurology, neuropsychiatry and neurological and neurobehavioral rehabilitation. NRR works closely together with other leading physicians, programs, rehabilitation professionals and therapists who treat patients with neurological problems to ensure that all available diagnostic and treatment resources are utilized efficiently and appropriately in achieving the best possible outcome. Many of Dr. Woodcock’s patients have been injured under circumstances leading to litigation regarding liability for their injuries and damages they may have suffered. As a result, Dr. Woodcock is frequently requested to testify as a treating physician regarding his opinion as to diagnosis, causation, impairment, prognosis, treatment and life expectancy. This experience with his own patients has led to requests for Dr. Woodcock to conduct forensic and independent medical examinations for other cases as well. These evaluations also lead to requests to provide expert testimony in depositions and courtroom trials for both plaintiffs and defense. In his trial work, Dr. Woodcock presents a fair, unbiased account of the patient’s condition, treatment and rehabilitation needs and prognosis. Dr. Woodcock’s clinical practice also includes patients with Workers’ Compensation injuries. Treatment of these patients also includes analysis of causation, temporary and permanent impairment, disability and treatment.
Dr. Woodcock has worked with traumatic injury cases stemming from gunshot wounds, vehicular accidents, sports injuries, assaults, falls, child abuse, and work-related accidents. He also has evaluated injuries involving hypoxia / anoxia, carbon monoxide poisoning, street drug intoxications and stroke. He has completed forensic evaluations regarding developmental injuries, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, dementing conditions, personality disorders and intoxications. He frequently works with vocational rehabilitation professionals in assessing disability and return to work status, and has been designated an expert witness in vocational disability in federal court. Dr. Woodcock also provides information and opinions for professionals preparing life care plans. Neurological evaluations are an integral part of injury cases. Dr. Woodcock is well-versed in all aspects of neuro-imaging, electrophysiologic, psychological and neuropsychological testing. He works with legal teams to insure these examinations are interpreted properly and fairly. D r. Woodcock is respected for responding well under intensive cross-examination. He uses his professional skills and decade of courtroom experience to explain complex clinical data and maintain clear communication of his professional opinions.In addition to his private practice and medical expert work, Dr. Woodcock is president of the medical staff, and former medical director, of North Valley Rehabilitation Hospital. He is the medical director of the Greeley Center for Independence. Dr. Woodcock’s current teaching appointments include Associate Clinical Professor of Neurology and Assistant Clinical Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. |
